As a reminder of the birth of Ada Ciganlija, a Memorial Fountain of Youth Work Actions was put into operation and restored in 2010 in this Belgrade’s leisure center.
The construction of the so-called “Belgrade Sea” began in 1957, when the People’s Committee of the City of Belgrade formed the Directorate for the Construction of the Recreation Center Ada Ciganlija, and the Youth Work Brigades worked patiently on the construction of the river island on a daily basis. The memorial park will remind future generations of visitors of Ada Ciganlija of all those worthy young people who gave Belgrade its most beautiful pearl, with their hard work and exceptional commitment.
